- Son John was the only survivor of triplets, the following is a copy of a letter dated 28 July 1900 :- "Lieut. Colonel Sir Fleetwood Edwards is commanded to acknowledge the receipt of Dr. John A. Jackson`s application and to send him the enclosed Post Office Order for Three Pounds, as a donation from Her Majesty The Queen to Mrs John Ward." 28 July 1900 Privy Purse Office, Buckingham Palace, S.W. ----------------------------------------------------------------- ------- Hexham Courant dated 28 July 1900. District News, Hexham. Triplets. Mrs Ward, wife of Mr J. T. Ward, Railway Porter Residing at Excelsior Buildings, Battle Hill, gave birth to triplets, 2 daughters and a son on Tuesday all are doing well and they were attended by Dr. J.A.Jackson, who has made on behalf of Mrs Ward, application for the Queen`s bounty. ----------------------------------------------------------------- ---- 11 August 1900, Deaths. At Hexham, Excelsior Buildings, 5 inst, aged 12 days, Jane, infant daughter of John Thomas Ward, Railway Porter. ----------------------------------------------------------------- ---- 18 August 1900, Deaths. At Hexham, Excelsior Buildings, 10 inst, aged 17 days, Sarah, infant daughter of John Thomas Ward. ----------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Following the death of John Thomas Ward, Mary married George Weymes and had a further two children ----------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Hexham Courant dated 6 December 1930. Deaths. WEYMES. 4, Excelsior Buildings, Hexham, on 4 inst. ( suddenly ), Mary, dearly beloved wife of the late George Weymes. Interment at Hexham Cemetery, Sunday 7 inst. Leaving residence at 2 PM. Mary Weymes ( Ridley ) died suddenly on Thursday 4 December 1930, aged 55. The funeral was on Sunday 7 December, " leaving the residence at 2 PM." The burial costs were 1-0-0 and Mary was buried with George.
